Kurukshetra is a place of huge historical and religious importance. It is located in the state of Haryana. Tradition holds that the great 18-day battle between the Pandavas and Kauravas in which Lord Krishna played his enigmatic part, as described in the pages of the epic Mahabharata, was fought on the plains of Kurukshetra. Millions of people come to Kurukshetra every year to visit the holy places, as it is believed that it has borne the imprints of Lord Krishna’s footsteps.
